SANJOAQUIN CHINO JACKET
SANJOAQUIN CHINO JACKET
"SAN JOAQUIN CHINO" is a classic Scye material made with care from the yarn, in pursuit of the quality of vintage American cotton that combines softness and dry texture. It is spun from cotton harvested in the San Joaquin Valley in California, and is one of the highest quality American cottons grown in the fertile soil and clean air of San Joaquin. This San Joaquin cotton is used for the warp thread, and natural uneven threads from Zimbabwe cotton in Africa are used for the weft thread to give the chino cloth a rich texture. This chino cloth has an interesting balance of high-quality texture and rough look.
The jacket is based on a hunting jacket from the early 1900s, with details from the M-421, also known as the summer flight jacket, which was issued to the USN in the 1940s.
At that time, hunting was becoming popular as a pastime for the nobility, and they wore hunting jackets based on tailored jackets. Miyahara of SCYE liked the shape and tailoring of this jacket, so he updated it with his own original pattern while following the outline and tailoring method.
The distinctive diamond-shaped elbow pads are a detail that is often used on NEXUSVII. and are also incorporated into this collaboration.
